World of Noise, Vol. 1 is a compilation with a unique concept as its title suggests, featuring various noise artists from different continents. Cicada 3301 from Indonesia (Asia), Muddy Lawrence from Australia (Australia), Påtår from Canada (North America), Terbeschikkingstelling from the Netherlands (Europe), Isadora Dustmite Junk from South Africa (Africa), and Gordo Valor from Argentina (South America). Each act involved in this compilation has its own distinctive style. Cicada 3301 presents Drone-ish Harsh Noise with a mix of rough textures that crushes in a 15-minute duration. Muddy Lawrence, in a 21-minute track, delivers a variety of noise styles ranging from minimalism, cut-up, glitch, to harsh noise. A complex sound art presented in a single track with numerous elements including samples. In the third track, Påtår stomps the listeners with Harsh Noise Wall infused with an audible touch of Industrial. The crispy texture of sound is unavoidable. Next, Terbeschikkingstelling offers 2 tracks, each with a different sonic weight. Playing with low frequencies and bassy tones combined with raw and buzzing sounds, creating a horror and haunting atmosphere especially in parts with brass. Truly a unique blend. Following that, 1§ÅᗬØᖆᗗ ᗬ:µ:§+ᘻ1+(∑) ᖌ:µ:ᙉkᐉ presents 5 tracks, each distinct from the other. An intriguing and challenging sound journey from ambience to harsh noise, showcasing a wide range of electronic sound manipulation. Something that must be explored and surely enjoyed. Many parts with textured sounds are also included, not to mention the advanced sound experimentation elements. Lastly, Gordo Valor, with his offering of Noisecore. Brutal Noisecore with pounding drums, speech samples, and of course, noise. Like an indication of a deeper and louder message.
